The EELC addressed the Departments of Basic Education, Social Development, and Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries on gaps in the National School Nutrition Programme, and the opportunities for bolstering feeding schemes for learners through mechanisms envisaged by the National Policy on Food and Nutrition Security. In light of recent incidents of corruption, we also emphasised the importance of sound procurement practices, and encouraged increased quality controls and financial transparency.
