In February 2019, EE and EELC made a joint submission on the draft Expropriation Bill. In line with previous submissions, EE and EELC outlined the importance of the link between the current debates around land expropriation, and learners’ right to basic education, particularly in the context of learners who attend public schools on privately-owned (often rural) land.
