Litigation Internship at the Equal Education Law Centre
Opportunity for law graduates
The Equal Education Law Centre is opening a call for applications to social justice lawyers for a 3-month paid litigation internship (one internship position is available for the period 1 June 2017 to 31 August 2017; one internship position is available for the period 1 September 2017 to 30 November 2017).
About the EELC
We are a team of activist lawyers working to advance the struggle for quality and equality in education, through legal advocacy and strategic litigation. The EELC works closely with our sister organisation, Equal Education, a movement of learners, parents, teachers and community members, working for quality and equality in South African education, through analysis and activism.
Who should apply
We are looking for young law graduates with a passion for social justice, law and education. The following are requirements:
- An LLB qualification;
- Strong research and writing skills;
- Candidates must be willing to learn and to work under strict deadlines.
- Ability to work in Cape Town for the duration of the intership.
Candidates who demonstrate a commitment to social justice and struggles for equality will be preferred. Preference will be given to black candidates from historically black universities.
