On 29 October 2024 we launched our limited-edition State of Education newspaper titled “Education Budget Cuts are Bankrupting Futures.” This publication brings together expert voices from across the education and early childhood development (ECD) sector to illuminate the path South Africa has travelled in basic education from 1994 to 2024, showcasing both triumphs and ongoing challenges.
The newspaper aims to shift perceptions about education funding, highlighting the critical role that adequate resourcing has played in the progress achieved to date and emphasising the vital importance of continued investment in schools and ECD.
