Together with Equal Education, on 26 May 2015 the Equal Education Law Centre submitted a comment to the Acting Director General of the Department of Basic Education, outlining concerns regarding the Draft National Policy on HIV, STIs and TB. These concerns centre around the policies vagueness as to how condoms will be made available in schools, particularly with regard to younger learners. We also pointed out that the means of access is critical, as learners need to be able to access condoms without fear of judgment.
