The EELC joins organisations around the world in welcoming the Ugandan High Court’s refusal to set aside the education ministry’s decision to shut down Bridge International Academy Schools in the country. While the closure of schools is challenging, we support the struggle against the entrenchment of low-fee private schools like Bridge which, with rich investors like Mark Zuckerberg, seeks to maximise profits at the expense of minimum education and safety standards.
